Hey Guys,
can anyone post the wiring diagram for a 2000 grand cherokee, xk531 and viper 5101 installation?
I just installed it, and I only get the door locks to responde properly! when I try to remote start I get some clicking noise for about 10 seconds and no flashing park lights to troubleshoot.
any suggestions?

There is a door on the top of the brain. Open it up and see if the fuse is installed. If not, determine what polarity it needs to be. See if that give you some flashing lights. Page 15 of the install manual.
What wires from the Viper, (H1, H2, H3...) do you have connected to what wires on the vehicle?
Is the Viper set to automatic mode? Page 45, Menu 3... ------------- When all else fails, Read the Instructions

thanks for your quick response!
the fuse is set to (-) as the parking lights is negative 1k Ohm (Yellow)
H1-> Ignition (blue)
H2-> 12V+ (Pink/Black)
H3-> Accessory (RED / Black)
H4->Starter(Yellow)
H5&8->12V+ (Red)
H6-> Ignition3 (BLACK/ Orange)
Regarding the mode, I'm not sure, I have not programed it. it is still factory settings as far as I know
Thanks again!!!

If your grand cherokee is an automatic you will need to change the transmission mode to "AUTOMATIC" as the unit is shipped in default manual mode. I can't find any wiring diagram for th xk531 so I not familiar with how they wire up. Your H3 heavy Gauge Harness looks right by the wiring diagrams.
You have both Pink/Black and Red for constant 12 Volt????
Also have you done the Tach Learning? ------------- When all else fails, Read the Instructions

Yes I have both red and Pink/black...???? as constant 12V according to the 2000 grand cherokee wiring diagram on this website. I was thinking of conecting H2/5/8 all to just the red 12V wire.
the xk531 has the D2D 4 pin connector, the ground , the data wire(violet) I connected to the OBDII Pin 2, and the ground when running(brown) to the status output (Blue) on the viper auxilary output harness
I connected the tach wire to an injector and did the Vtach.
I will look into changing the factory settings to automatic! (duh!!!!)
thanks!

did you successfully program the transponder portion of the XK531?

Yes, I did program the transponder, it flashed and honked according to the instructions.
I believe it is the V5101 that is not programmed correctly.
right now I cannot enter programming mode on the 5101.
How do I reset the 5101 so that I can try to program menu 3 to go into option 2 (auto)?

Unplug the bypass, and insert the key into the ignition barrel and leave in the off position and attempt remote start, if it succeds you have a bypass problem. Post back with results.
