i connected the viper system to my silverado and the keyless entry worked and then it stopped working. now it will only lock and to unlock the doors you have to disconnect the brown remote wire coming from the pdl module. any help?

How did you connect the Viper to the trucks door locks?   Did you use a module or go directly?  ( I usually go with a module that does both the Passlock 2 and door locks. )

This info from Bulldog Security:
At the BCM, in the LT.BLUE plug check pin B5 for a lt. blue wire(lock) and at pin B10 check for a white wire(unlock) if these wires are present your vehicle has the BASE LEVEL lock system which is type ''B'' negative. If these wires are not present this vehicle has the PREMIUM LEVEL lock system and will Require an Anti-Theft Interface Module.

This info from AudioVox:
THE DOOR LOCKS IN THIS VEHICLE ARE MULTIPLEXED. WIRE AS A REVERSING POLARITY SYSTEM IN EACH FRONT DOOR OR ACQUIRE A MULTIPLEX INTERFACE ADAPTER FROM A SECURITY MANUFACTURER.

Sorry, I was assuming you had  factory power door locks.  Any information on the aftermarket remote keyless entry system would be helpful, like Brand and model number.

Our unit only accepts negative (-) inputs from your remote unit. Connect your negative (-) lock wire from the keyless remote to the white wire on the power lock kit. Then connect your negative (-) unlock wire from the keyless remote to the brown wire on the power lock kit. It should then operate from remote once you finish the installation of that product. Note that different vehicles require the actuators to move in a different direction.  If you find that your lock button is unlocking the doors and visa versa, simply switch the lock and unlock wires on the brown and white wires.

**NOTE** Always isolate your lock kit and keyless remote installations. Install and test each one at a time. Once you are confident each works as described, connect the 2 together. This helps eliminate problematic variables.

As per the Install Guide excerpt above, you should place a diode in each wire connection.

Viper Door Lock 3 pin harness

1N4001 Diode with Stripe ( Band ) towards Viper
Viper   output           Central Lock Module
Green  (Lock)    Diode     White wire

Blue   (UnLock)  Diode     Brown wire
