Alarm Viper 5701, with a DLPKGM and 508D sensor.
Cars: Yukon XL 1500, 2001 and Buick Randevuz 2002
The car alarms have changed :) they have become way more sophisticated as cars also did with electronicks. I have a degree in electronicks and 25 years experiance in electrical and controll work, but this is a challenge for me, and probably others. I desided to start this thread for the Viper 5701 to find answers to more questions and also as Kreg suggested in this thread that has additional info. https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~123720~get~last#609012
Anyway heres my first question to the experts, how to find the newtral wire in the Yukon and Buick
And second what wires I need to connect with the DPLPKGM
Thanks. ------------- YUKON 2001

I connected D2D module to the Viper 5701, from what I am looking at theres only 2 wires to connect. Where do they connect on the yukon ? ------------- YUKON 2001

Ignition 1 goes to the Pink wire at the ignition switch harness. Should be the same one you used for the Viper Ignition 1 connection, H3/1.
The Data OBD2 goes to the OBD connector Pin 2 under the steering column. Its the "Diagnostic " connector... ------------- Soldering is fun!

OK, things to check or double check.
1. Viper D2D jumpers - set to external. Assuming you set it up to run D2D and not W2W.
2. Did you connect Tach wire? If yes, did you change Menu 3, Menu Item 2, Option 4?
3. If running in Tach Mode, did you do Tach Learn procedure?
4. If it still won't start, re-program the DLPKGM and make note of any diviations from guide.
Does everything else work? Door Lock, unlock, Parking Lights, etc? ------------- Soldering is fun!

Sorry, can't help with the 508d, I never use them. There are many experts on this site that do, so hopefully they will jump in and assist.

I install a 508d on my Viper 5701 for my work van and ended up disconnecting it as it was very touchy to adjust and would give the warn away when cars would drive by it parked on the street. I would opt for a 506t. I put a 506t in my daughters car with her 5701 and you don't get unwanted warn away chirps. Just my opinion.
What does your 508 do?
Cutting the two black wires on the siren will eliminate tones 2 thru 6, and the soft chirp. I did not cut mine, and it is plenty annoying. ------------- When all else fails, Read the Instructions

Thelocation of my 508D is in the center console, with the bottom of it facing the metal frame. Is the ideal location against a metal or not ? ------------- YUKON 2001

All the wire lists show connections at the ignition switch harness. Two Ignitions, one Starter, and possibly two Accessories ( Audiovox lists a Brown ACC2 ).
The install guide for the DLPKGM really doesn't list the 2002 year, but I would see if it would do the door lock / unlock control before I got some relays and resistors and wired directly.

Thanks kreg, you just gave me another option, and maybe using the DPLGM is a better option to unlock the doors. Thanks.

Found all the wires for the Buick Randevuz 2002, there is several wiring diagrams, I will post the one that worked in my car, also the BMC is in the center consol.
I have 2 questions. 1) can I get power from other 12v thicker ignition wires that are closer, instead of the orange at the ignition
2) the tach wire I canot locat it is there another place to look for it ?
heres the list

On some GM vehicles, the best +12v constant source is the battery. Get a small roll of 12 gauge stranded "primary wire" and solder a length to the remote starter power wire. Might have to run more than one. Protect from heat, vibration and chaffing enroute the battery.
For the Tach signal, you could also go to a Fuel Injector. Connect to the "non-common" color wire. ( Each FI will have two wires. Look at several FI's and you will see that they all share one "same color" wire and each will have a unique color wire. Connect to the most convenient "unique" color. ) ------------- Soldering is fun!

Kreg thanks for your help, got everything working except the remote start.
The buick has a key with a code, the remote start works only if I have the key pluged in. Its one of those $ 50 keys that they put in some kind of code, any ideas ? again buddy this would be impossible without your help. ------------- YUKON 2001

The DLPKGM should be able to bypass your 2002 Buicks' PK3 system. Are you running in D2D mode? Did the module program correctly? ------------- Soldering is fun!

Kregggggggggg done the second alarm is finished ........
I not only want to thank you again and again for your help, but I consider you my friend by now :) This installation would be nearly impossible without this forum and your help. Thanks again. BTW the problem was I was turning the key too fast and the module didnot have a change to read.
Thanks kreg !!!!! ------------- YUKON 2001

Does the module control the parking lights and door loc/unlock? Or did you connect the 5701 directly to the car for those items?
I would try reprogramming it and verify the LED responses were correct. Last try would be switching to W2W mode. ------------- Soldering is fun!

Another job well done! Congratulations! Now all the relatives will be wanting one for Christmas.
The DLPKGM module can't do the trunk. You have to go directly from the 5701 to the car for that.
TRUNK RELEASE WHITE/ BLACK (-) @ BCM, GRAY Plug, Pin 16 It's a (-) trigger so wire and set the Viper accordingly.
Vipers are not my forte. Hopefully a Viper expert can jump in with the two car / same remote programming for you.

On page 13 of the Owners manual it will explain how to change from car One to car Two.
Once it is set to the car you want,(I assume car Two), go to the Install manual to, Page 56 and 57, to program the remote to the car. ------------- When all else fails, Read the Instructions

This is from page 68 of the install manual:
Note: Comfort closure can only be used on cars that have the capability of closing the windows (and on some cars the sunroof as well) with the key cylinder in the door.
I put two 530t modules in my 2000 Taurus. They were a lot of work and I only went to the drivers door and the rest of the wires I took in the drivers door sill. I put the modules under the center arm rest. Having to extend all of the wires, wire loom, extending a power source, and two Aux wires. Set mine up so Aux 1 is the front windows and Aux 2 is the rear windows. All four windows go up when armed/locked. Cool, but a lot of work.

I don't know. I suppose you could with a couple or number of relays, but a 530t is already wires for all that. Could be an interesting experiment.
