Just purchased my Qi45 through an employee accommodation program. Should be here within a couple weeks. Anyone used one yet? Radar Roy gave it pretty good reviews. I also got the laser shifter pack to go along with it.

i know where you work . . . but no i haven't installed one yet. radar detectors aren't too big of a seller in our area other than the el cheapo unit that despite my best efforts, they still buy

Haha... Does that mean you work for the same company?

We really only carry a whole line of Cobras and the 9500 and 8500s. Needless to.say, the Cobras sit on the shelf unsold and we can't keep the escorts in stock.

yeah we work for the same company. i don't sell many radar detectors because we're one of the apparent few locations that the install stays pretty busy so actual salepeople usually sell product. however, when i do talk with people about radar detector, i inform them that i was a qualified radar operator as a military policeman in the army so i kinda have a clue as to what i'm talking about . . . then they buy the cheap cobra anyway. meh, i don't have to worry about my insurance or lawyer

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just thought I'd mention that I installed my Qi45. It was indeed a very quick install. It was my first time putting this particular radar detector in, but I have to say that I am going to recommend it to a lot of my customers. Hardest part is finding a place to mount the antenna, but that's only for certain vehicles. So far, I like it. It's got great range and made for a very nice and stealthy install.

I'll post pictures when I get a chance.
