The vehicle is a 2004 Chevy silverado.  I have installed an Avital avistart 3300 (old but free), and a DEI 1700g (out dated, found new and cheap).  All functions pertaining to the alarm/ rs work great.  However, when you shut off the vehicle with the key there is no more retained accessory power.  The radio shuts right off along with everything else (like how all the older vehicles do it).  It doesn't really bother me, I just want to make sure I didn't connect something wrong and burn the truck down.

After spending some time behind the wheel I realized that the truck still has RAP.  It just doesn't work like it used too.  Currently if you shut the truck off with the key but leave the key in the ignition there is still accessory power, however, if you remove the key from the ignition everything shuts off.  The accessory power used to stay on until a door was opened.  Its not a big deal to me, but like I said before, I just want to make sure that something isn't hooked up wrong.  On a side note, the XM stations seem to have a little more static while listening and there seems to be a little delay when switching stations.  I'm not sure if the alarm/rs or the 1700g would have anything to do with this or if it is the USAspec ipod interface that is causing this.  The USAspec piece has had problems since day one.  I'm on the third interface.  Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I was under the impression that I didn't have to use that wire when using a combo interface.  Am I wrong?  Its been a while since I have done any alarms.

the 1700g is re-arming the factory alarm after shut down which its supposed to do whch is probably telling the computer in the turck that the door opened and shut so its shutting off rap, the key being left in the ign is possibly confusing the computer since its seeing a re arm signal, not real familiar with dei but i know most interfaces for door locks/paslock do pulse to re arm after shutdown

Key sense wire was hooked up to a light green wire in the ignition harness.  Tested it with my fluke just to make sure.
