I'm preparing to install an Autopage RS730 remote start/alarm on a 2008 Sierra. I've never installed anything on a 07 or newer GM truck yet. Is there anything about these trucks I should be aware of? How much does it differ from the 03-06 Sierras? Are any resistors or anything needed? Also, I know this truck has the Passkey 3 system. What module would I need to bypass both the PK3 and also integrate with the doorlocks? I need a module that is already loded with the correct software. Since I don't work in a shop anymore I don't have the equipment to flash any modules.

Use the iDatalink ADS-DL for this truck along with a GM3 ring ( if you don't want to cut any of the PK3 wires ) and no GM3 ring required if your OK with cutting PK3 wires and having a 40+ mA draw.

This is a very easy truck to do. You have to remove the steering wheel shroud to access the IGN and PK3 wires and the 12 + wire is at the fuse panel on the driver side dash.

Brake wire and (-) parking lights are at the BCM behind the steering column. All other convenience features are controlled via the ADS-DL module.

Is there any other bypass module I can use? I need one that I do not have to flash, and preferably one bypass that will do the doorlocks and PK3 bypass.

You won't have to flash the Idata module as long as you order the correct one. It will come pre-flashed. The Idata modules are the best there are for this truck and make the install very easy with very good instructions. This single module will do your PK3, door locks, tach, door triggers, even take care of the resisted value MUX wire the ignition switch has...

As Mike said, it will be flashed for the truck that you want. There is another module from iDatalink ( OMNI ) that has every firmware loaded on there but is quite a bit more expensive than the ADS-DL module.

The iDatalink module is a great choice.  There are two iDatalink modules that come already loaded with the correct firmware.  Look for the ADS-DLSL GM or ADS-ALSL GM.

Additionally, if the truck is not driven frequently use the iDatalink ADS-RNG GM3 with either of the above modules to reduce power consumption by 25mA.

Does the GM3 ring have to be purchased seperately?

Yes, it's a seperate item.  Available "online" for around $20.

as long as your remote start ign and acc wires have the correct timing output( acc first ign 2nd, acc drop while maintaining ign, ( as my audiovox and d.e.e. do) i just put a key in a universal box( keys from transponder island or hwoard keys less them 10 bucks and a u is around 15) very simple truck to do if remote start has right sequence, test one by wiring it up and just leaving key in ign barrel if it starts then you have right timing just need keys and universals

Yeah, but if I get an all in one module, it will also take care of the doorlocks and domelight too. If it was a barebones work truck, then I would go that route since I'd have to hook up door lock actuators anyways. Speaking of which, does anyone know if the locks are cable locks or rod style locks on a 2007+ GM truck?
