I have a Python 1400XPL remote start installed in an 04 Dakota.
With the H4/3 green (-)lock(+)unlock to the 330 ohm resistor and the H4/1 blue (+)lock(-)unlock to the 820 resistor the key FOB lock button will lock but the unlock will not.
After changing the wires to the other resistors, the key FOB unlock button locks the doors but the lock button will not unlock them.
If one function will work and not the other, is it because I do not have a relay installed? Why would changing the wires also change the key FOB?

All help is appreciated,
Puddleman

Try a 620 ohm resistor for unlock instead of the 330 ohms.

I always use relays for resisted value locks. Remember when ever you press lock you are not only sending a resisted ground to lock you are also sending a positive pulse to the unlock. I have also seen installers install diodes on the wires to stop the positive pulse but i prefer doing it the correct way with the relays...
