hi,
i have installed a remote start in my 1999 audi A6. everything went well or so i thought until i tried to start it with the oem alarm on. this triggers the factory alarm. on the wiring i was given it said N/A to the disarm wires because it disarms with the unlock. however this is useless if you have to unlock the car every time you want to start it. so if anyone knows the wire i need or how to trace it that would be great, otherwise i guess ill just leave it unlocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could tie the fad wire to the unlock wire then set the system to relock after start. This way it would unlock and disarm the factory alarm then relock after it starts. I'm assuming your system has this feature as you didn't tell us the brand
------------- If i Can't Install it I Don't need it Joe

What Chev says is correct as usual, it's the only way, those bloody German cars have a (twisted) logic of their own. You can't even do that on an A4 after 02, you can effect lock, close factory alarm and deadlock but not unlock! You need a CANMAX 400 or similar.
------------- Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.
