Hi,I'm installing a new viper 5901 in my 2010 tundra,do I need to connect both ignition one and two from the big connector,I'm a bit confused with the big wires but I'm ok with the other ones. When I push the remote start, there is a message"remote start error",nothing happen but seven flashes from the parking lights.I think I don't have the good tach wire.I can start the engine. The alarm works, the door locks,arm...disarm,any info would be appreciate, thanks.

That oufit, like all of the viper 5000 series comes preprogrammed to manual trans mode.  You have to access the menu, specifically menu 3 feature 1 option 2 will put it in automatic mode if indeed you have an automatic transmission vehicle.  If you have a manual trans, then you need to do the shutdown sequence.  If you need the manual for the viper it is available on this site for your reading pleasure.

Seven blinks means the Viper is still at the factoy default of Manual Transmission Mode.  If your truck is an Automatic, you will need to change Menu 3, Menu Item 1 to Option 2.

The Vipers factory default is for the Flex Relay set at IGN2.  Connect the H3/7 wire to the trucks Ignition 2 wire and the H3/2 power wire to +12v constant.

Did you get a Transponder bypass for the truck?

Did you connect the Neutral Safety wire?

Hi,I did install a bypass but the neutral wire is not connected because they say in the wiring location (not available) but I have a little neutral switch connected to the module and it is at on and does it mean I don't have to connect the ignition 1, can I just ground the neutral wire, thanks.

I'm not sure I understand the question(s).

If the truck is an Automatic, just ground the Neutral safety wire.  ( Or, for extra safety,  you could connect it to the Parking Brake wire, Tan (-) at the switch.)

Here is another source of wire info :  https://techservices.audiovox.com/Login.aspx  The sign-up is free.

The truck has two Ignition wires at the ignition switch harness.  You should connect the Viper to both.  H3/1 goes to the Tundras' Black Ignition wire and H3/7 goes to the Tundras' Light Green Ignition wire.  All ignition wires are thin gauge.

Does the Tundra have the 80 bit encryption transponder ( "G" stamped on the key blade )?  Which bypass module did you get?

If you are using the TBXKEY with a working key inside, did you install the OEM key jumper and connect it in the W2W mode?

There are two sets of 3 pin jumpers on the side by the antenna & W2W connectors.  One should be set to "18 windings" and the other to "OEM key".  Shown on Page 4 of the TBXKEY install guide.

Yes it's ok with those two jumpers,so I think I'll have to move the loop.

search the downloads section of this site for the manual, if you cannot locate it the 5701 is available and should be the same.  It will tell you exactly how to access the menu and change options without the bitwriter

Make sure the green wire (- door trigger) is grounded and have lots of patience for lots of attempts, you will get there (eventually, possibly).
Why do people not realise these are protected products for pro-installation.

I was having trouble as well with it, so here is what I did

Step 1: Open car door.
Step 2: Cycle ignition key ON then OFF. Do the next step within 10 seconds.
Step 3: Press and hold valet switch until LED flashes 3 times (siren chirps 3 times), then release.
Step 4: Press and release valet switch once then press and hold. Siren chirps once.
Step 5: While still holding the valet switch, press UNLOCK button of transmitter. Siren chirps 2 times.
Step 6: Release valet switch. Cycle ignition key ON then OFF.

make sure you press the valet button once, then press it and hold it.

dasbogie provided you with the answer you are looking for. Download the install manual for the Viper 5701, starting on page 60 are the instructions on how to access the menus with out a BitWriter.

Pay attention to the "note" on page 61.

Page 65 has the menu you are dealing with.    Menu 3, Item 1, Option 2.

It takes some practice, so don't give up.

Key on, then off.  Press and hold the valet button until three flashes and chirps, then release, the press and hold, should get one chirp,  press the unlock button, should get two chirps, (automatic mode), release and wait until system times out, (Horn honk) if connected. Should be in auto mode

Also do you have the Neutral Safety wire grounded?  And the toggle switch plugged in and ON?

Make absolutely sure the green door trigger wire is going to ground when a door is opened temporarily ground it if you have to.
As we've all said, you need patience, the first time I did one I actually had to call tech support I was so angry with it.

so after a few more attempts i finally got it into auto trans mode :) now when i hit the start button the remote says remote start on and the dash lights come on and everything seams to do what its suppposed to except the truck still wont start. when i push the start button again the remote says remote start off and everything shuts off. it will start with the key turned on.
