I need to wire up a DPDT relay to trigger the lock actuator of my driver's door. I would prefer to use a nice clean wiring harness that the relay will connect into and provide me with 8 wire leads to work with. I found a DPDT relay from partsexpress.com that will work for about $6, but I can't find a wiring harness to use with it. I guess I can just solder my connections directly to the relay and try to tape up the exposed leads as best as I Can, but it worries me that I will have +12V on one of them and it could be somewhat exposed, or the tape could come off, etc. A harness that connects onto the relay would really be ideal. Might Checker or Napa have something like this? Any help or advice on where to source this would be most appreciated.

Shrink sleeve 1/4" over the terminals or bases from Radio shack etc.

and solder wiring to the socket and add heatshrink per Howie's post.

Yeah, I considered heat-shrink tubing for the terminal leads too. I guess that's what I'll have to do. Thanks for the pointers and links.

What is the brand, and part # of your relay?

Funnily enough you can buy the kit of parts, base and non-insulated click in terminals quite easily here, Armour Auto, UK page 227, I've tried Metra and Scosche with no luck, though I'm sure DEI or other alarm manufacturers do something similar in their accessory sections.

i'm guessing his choice of the relay is more of an industrial/power control type rather than automotive type. looked at the parts express website and searched relays, looking at the 12V DC DPDT offerings.

Actually the whole questions, daft with a normal relay just use crimp type connectors, mind you as CK said he hasn't bothered to tell us what type.
