Hi All,
I have a viper 300 installed in my car, and once in a while when I close the vehicle's door the warn away chirp will go off.
Is this due to a failed stinger double gaurd shock sensor?
Any help is appreciated.
thanks.

If it happens about 3 seconds after arming, it's a door trigger.

You close the door, arm the system, and THEN it gives you a warn away?
Or right after you close the door and the system ISNT armed yet?

It happens right after I close the door and the system is not armed.

Something is strange here. If the system isn't armed, why are you getting a warn-away? If system isn't armed no sensors should work, the siren can't sound, so I think your 300 may be faulty. Does it work normally when you arm it?

Yes, it operates normally when armed.
I did notice that the shock sensor light turns red if moved when the alarm is not armed. Is this normal or should it be off?

Yes it's normal, it means it's permanently wired, BUT if the alarm was wired normally the siren wouldn't sound, the wiring needs looking at OR live with it and forget it. First stage, unplug the shock sensor and see if it still happens.

Howie,
Thanks so much for your help.
Should the sensor be wired to not have permanent power?

Actually howard, i noticed that dei's shock sensor does give that red light when the system isn't armed, it just won't trigger cause the alarm isn't armed, so as you were sayin howie, somethin's wrong.

Hi All,
with further investigating, the shock sensor is constantly triggering the warn away chirp when the ignition key is removed from the ignition while the alarm is disabled and door open or closed.
Can somebody lead me in the right direction, maybe I should replace the shock sensor?

Follow howard and unplug the sensor, it is kinda strange for that to just happen randomly, could be a faulty unit, just a guess.
