when cutting the wire for te security led in an 07 infiniti g35x PTS should the security led in the cluster stop flashing? i just want to make sure i ahve the corresct wire.

Your meter has the answer to your question.  If you meter the wire it will show ground pulse with the light flash.  If you cut the sec. light wire and now it no longer flashes, most likely you have the right wire but your meter will give you assurance you have the right wire.

I have to say this is hard to test with a DVM. The flash is so fast it simply doesn't show up. I have been kinda bitchin to Idatalink about this on the new Toyota TL2 software as they don't tell you the exact location of the security light wire. Fortunately on your car it is clear of the location, orange wire in a 40 pin plug at the BCM.

On this car and all Nissan's, the security light will stop flashing when this wire is cut.

What I've noticed is that if you do a continuity test with the dmm on the wire and the other prob on a ground the light will turn constant. That's how I tested mine.
