Subject: hazard relay buzzing with key on?

Today I installed a remote start in a 1991 Lexus LS400. Ultra Start

When the ignition is on (remote start or with the key)  the hazard relay buzzes.

I disconnected the white parking light wire from the R/S and the buzzing stops.

Would it be easier to tap into the hazard lights themselves? The relay is right in the open. I had a hell of a time finding the parking light wire. I found a wire coming form the column.

It's negative, so I changed the jumper inside the R/S. Everything works including the parking light flash, but still has that buzzing.

Or GREEN/ black and GREEN/ YELLOW + at steering column (test) but you will need 2 x 1N5004 diodes, band out in a "Y". That's what I've always done, no problems.

I'll look into it today. I couldn't find the dark green wire, none of them look dark green. I also couldn't find any + wire (at the column) that comes on with the parking lights.

I found a wire that when I check it with my test light it turns on the parking lights. Could that be the problem?

I have the Lexus EWD (wiring diagram book) for the car and work at Lexus as a tech. Guess I'll have to pull the plug off the column and look at every wire closely.

One more thing, where do you mount the R/S module? I had to use double sided tape and secure it to another computer.

As you claim to be a Lexus tech you should be aware that ALL rear side brake reverse and indicator lighting is green based.
If your test lead sets it off then that's the one, set up as a neg output from the R/S.
Yes that's about all you can do with LS 400 mounts, try long cable (zip) ties as well.

There are no wires in the black plug at the column that show 12V+ with the parking lights on.

I tapped into the GREEN/ Orange wire at the dark grey plug in the driver kick panel. No more buzzing from the relay.

Glad you sorted out your problem but they would,t have shown 12volts+ they are a NEGATIVE trigger, you GROUND them to actuate.

I did ground the wire. That's when I experienced the buzzing. I guess I should of connected both wires and used diodes like you said. (I've read that in the S2000 post about hazard lights.)

Thanks for the help. I dont install stuff for a living so I've got some learning to do.

Remote start install is finally fixed. It turns out that the remote start module was bad. I left the parking lights disconnected until I came up with a solution.

The owner of the car stated that the R/S would only work sometimes and the factory alarm would go off on occasion.

I installed a new module, hooked the parking lights (+)  to a wire in the driver kick panel and the lock/unlock wires to the keyless entry ECU that's in front of the parking brake pedal.

Everything is working as it should. No more buzzing and the factory alarm isn't going off. The parking lights also work correctly.
