Hello Everybody,

My wife has a 2003 Grand Am with an Astrostart(not sure which model #, installed by the dealer she bought it from). Recently the battery went dead and I had to replace the battery. I knew absolutely nothing about autostarts so I never turned the switch to off. Now the car wont start with the remote starter. Everything else works just fine, the locks, the trunk popper, even the continuous run. But when I try to start it, it dings and does all the stuff it usually does, it just doesn't start. No starter engagement, nothing.

I located the brain under the dash. It has 9 switches, all in the down position. After it tries to remote start, the LED blinks 4 times, then a pause, then 4 blinks, etc. I've scoured this website looking for any kind of code sheet but can't find one. I'll post pics of the brain below(sorry they're a little blurry). Any help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

If you turn the brain over you will see the model #.

The 4 flashes are an idication of no tach learned. To relearn the tach first, warm up the engine to operating temp.

shut it off leave the key in. On the brain, put 1 5 6 and 7 in the up, or on position. Start the vehicle with the key.

push on the foot brake pedal,  in approx. 4 or 5 seconds the unit will flash and click..... after that,  put all of the dips in the down/off position, push the

brake you should be done. attempt a remote start see what happens.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll give it a try in the morning since my wife has the car at work right now.

Well KarTuneMan, I tried your suggestion and that didn't work. The brain clicked and led flashed, but it seemed after I pushed to brake the second time that nothing really happened. So i still get the 4 flashes. I unmounted the brain and the model # is 2100. Looks like there is a bypass hooked up to it as well. Any more suggestions? Thanks!

After I hit the brake the second time is the unit supposed to do something different? After it gets done with learning mode the LED flashes rapidly, then I hit the brake and it keeps flashing rapidly. Are the settings not getting stored? I traced the tach wire and that seems to be fine.
