I just got done installing a Ford remote start kit in my 2007 Five Hundred. I am having a few problems though. The headlights, dash lights and brake lights stay on all the time. The headlight switch does nothing. The dimmer switch doesn't work and the trunk release button doesn't work either. The starting and the door lock/unlock work fine. The car came with keyless entry and I can still open the trunk with that. Any ideas?

More information would be helpful.

What kind of remote start?
What bypass?
Where did you hook up parking lights?

I believe that car is one of the Fords where if you try to do lights at the switch, and you don't interrupt another wire with a relay, the switch burns out.

I got kit #7L3Z-19G364-AA and bypass #8L3Z-19G365-BA. I did the lights, dome light and the trunk release all by the switches. The install sheets I had didn't mention anything about a seperate realy.

I just unhooked the kit and that had no effect. All the lights are still on and the trunk release still doesn't work.

Turns out when I took off one of the SJB connectors to hook up a wire, I didn't get it seated properly. Everything works now. Thanks for the response
