I would like to remove a Viper 550HF with remote start from my truck. it is acting up more and more some times it clears and the truck will start and this morning it just keep tripping in the alarm state I did mange to drive into the drive.
I have downloaded the install manual for the 550HF from the archives. The couple of local dealers have been no help at one the ace installer was 6 years old when it was installed in the truck new. He said he didn't have a clue. They had no idea what the limited lifetime warranty covered etc.
Another one was no help because they didn't do the install. The dealer that did is no longer in business.

Can I disable the unit or do I have to remove it and replug in the assorted harness back to their correct places?

Any help will be appreciated,
thanks

Well 2 hours and only one dash panel removed. The complete 550HF unit and all relays and wiring is removed. the only thing that I didn't get out is what I believe is for the door locks, drivers side body cavity were the door wire harness goes through.

I tested the truck for starting as I removed items, also tested the windows and looks to make sure they work. Only had to splice the one wire from the key switch/ignition harness back together.

It was easier than I had thought I did take color photos of the tap and harness hook ups along with writing the color codes of all wires concerned.

Thank you to ever placed the 550HF installation booklet in your archives. It did save a couples hours in reverse engineering it.
Thanks again
