I bought a hornet 740T...  I am however running into a couple issues.  I have a 98 explorer, and looked up the wiring on here.  printed it out and am good to go.  I figured you use the door lock/unlock to the wires on my hornet.  however, now it seems after using quick connects the button the the door [power locks] doesnt lock or unlock them.  but the locks have been screwy so thats why im doing keyless.  anyways,  could someone advise me what wires I need to hook up to make this work?  Im not a complete noob, i know how to read a wiring diagram, but maybe using two (-) [negative] wires from the hornet isnt what ford uses.

i thought ford uses the two negative pulses from the doors locks for both the unlock and lock

any advise would be helpful./  also trying to wire up the remote start as well :)

I've done those trucks countless times. straight negative locks in the kick panel always. never have i had any issues personally.

Power Unlock          PINK/LIGHT GREEN          (-)          NEGATIVE TRIGGER
PowerLock          PINK / YELLOW          (-)          DRIVER'S KICK PANEL

more than likely you have a bad lock switch. Ihave a 98 and the switch in the trunk is wired to the same curcut as the door locks. So if the back swich works the rest of the wiring should be fine. But if you uses diconects conectors there may be issuse with the connectors.  Although soldering is the best way to go I have used connectors in the past and delt with the issue that come with them. A bad connection can cause all sorts of problems. Best thing to do is verify all your connections with a digital meter.  In a worst case senerio you could just run wires to the switch near the hatch. This would probably over ride any issuse. I would also recomend replacing your door locks with new keyed cylinders, So you can open your door with a key.A remote system wont work with a dead battery.
