Hi guys,
Need help with viper 5701 2 way remote start installation on 2005 Nissan Altima. I'm using the Fortin can sl pl module like recommended in some other post. Installed the Fortin module no problem. Made all connections that I thought should made. Viper remote as of right now controls the doors no problem. Try to remote start. It seems that it's going to work but no crank. It tries like 3 times and then it gives a error signal on there remote. I looked for other forums related to it but couldn't find it. I appreciate any help I can get.

What does the error say? Have you plugged in the toggle switch and set it to the on position? Have you set it to automatic mode?

First of all, thank you for replying.
The switch that came with it I plugged that in, in on mode like it tells on the installation manual.
When I first tried to remote start I got the tics. The remote was set for manual transmission. After reading one other thread I was able to put it in auto mode so the tics went away.
The error is just a short buzzer + the function light coming on on the remote
This is what the car does. It pressurizes the fuel system i can heat it, but then nothing happens, it does it again twice then I get the error buzzer.

Did you program to Tach mode? Menu 3, Menu Item 2 to Option 4 . Where did you connect for the Tach signal ( CAN-SL PL or car )? Did you do a successful Tach Learn?
Did you cut the Starter wire for the Starter Kill ( H3/4 and H3/5 )? Does the car start with the key OK?
Any Viper error blinks on the LED? ------------- Soldering is fun!

put the key in the ignition without turning it and try it. if it starts it's a bypass issue, if not then try it with the key turned to the run position. if it starts then you're missing an ignition wire.
pretty simple to diagnose.

I did a tach learn and it seems that the viper unit took it.
Tach signal coming from first coil from left to right when you face the engine.(Not the common wires)
Tach wire going to viper 5 pin connector (violet/white).
I did not program the tach mode at this point because I didn't think it would keep me from start the engine which was my main goal. I was going to as soon as I had the car starting. Should I program it before in order to get it to start??

Forgot to say...
Yes I did cut the starter wire and connected the H3/4 and H3/5 wires.
Violet going to car side of starter wire and green going to key side of starter wire.

Thanks zerepdivad for the diagnostic tips I am sure a lot a people will appreciate that as well.
Well I did what told me but unfortunately nothing happens.
First try with the key inserted. I does exactly the same thing(It pressurizes the fuel system i can hear it, but then nothing happens, it does it again twice then I get the error buzzer.) with the red led near the ƒ button.
Second try with the key in run position: I can hear a couple of relays kicking in and out inside the viper unit 3 times and then the buzzer + red led by the ƒ key, the difference is that it doesn't pressurize the system 3 times... I believe because its already pressurized from the key.
The car starts normally with the key.

I would like to describe what is connected and what is not.
Can-Sl-Pl:
Lt. blue and Lt blue/black -vehicle security light
Blue - common ground with viper
Purple - green wire on viper (lock)
PURPLE / white - blue wire on viper (unlock)
Yellow - thinner BLACK/ red on ignition harness
Gray and gray/black going to 6 and 14 on OBDll connector.
red and black 12 volts.
Viper:
H1 connector:
red 12+ constant - going to green on ignition harness.
brown - siren
black - ground
blue - trunk instant trigger
green - doors ( with diode for each one)
white - parking light 9 RED / blue driver kick back harness
H2 connector: nothing connected at this point.
H3 connector:
Pink - thinner BLACK/ red on ignition harness
Violet - car side of starter wire (thicker BLACK/ red on ign. harness)
Green - key side of starter wire ( thicker blac/red on ign harness)
Red 12+ constant - green wire on ignition harness
Other connections on viper:
toggle switch - on position
BLACK/ white neutral safety - ground
violet/white tach signal - from ignition coil.
green lock - to can-sl-pl
blue unlock - to can-sl-pl
Antenna
Valet Program - blue 2 pin form antenna
status led - white 2 pin from antenna

On the Viper H3 harness, need to connect H3/2, H3/6 and H3/9 to +12v constant power. Program Viper Flex relay for Starter2 and connect H3/7 to cars Starter2 wire. H3/3 should go to cars Red ACC1. There is an ACC2 that would require an additional relay and inline fuse to power.
Did you verify all the ignition wires with a Digital Multi Meter or LED Test Probe?
The big problem is the Fortin CAN-SL Pl. The Blue Ground Out wire should go to the Vipers (-) 200mA Status Output , Blue wire Pin 5 on the Remote Start AUX Output connector. ------------- Soldering is fun!

I connected all wires as you told me and I believe I programmed it right for the starter 2, guess what!
It worked!!
The engine starts. At this time I don't see any other problem I hope it stays that way.
