need manual for compustar 6200

Hey guys, you guys have been great about helping me before, just want to see if I can get some help on this.

I installed a Compustar remote start system FT6200SCONT, and a couple months down the road it stopped working. I double checked all my connections and power and ground, and I came to the conclusion that the module was defective. So I sent it in and recieved a new one under warranty.

Now I need to install the new one, but I've misplaced the installation manual/programming instructions for the remote starter. Please, please, please, can anyone help me out? I sent an email to the company requesting a PDF version for the manual, but we'll see what happens.

Any help is greatly appreciated! I just need to know how to reprogram the new unit. I'm a rookie at this, so lend me your knowlege!

You should only need to program your old remotes and the tach. To program remotes cycle the ingnition on/off 4 times the last time leave on then press lock button on each remote. To program tach start the car, step on the brake and press start button. You should get one flash to conferm tach is learned. This should be all you need to get the system up and running. Unless you need vehical spacific programing options, like double pulse door locks ect.

No I shouldn't need anything vehicle specific; I'm using the module just as a remote start only, no alarm or lock actuator wiring.

I appreciate your help, I'm currently talking to Compustar tech support to verify the programming on it. I installed this remote starter months ago, and it just stopped working, and by that I mean it doesn't even try to start the car or pulse the parking lights or anything.

If anyone else has any thoughts, I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

Any parking light flashes with  error codes?

As a test, change Option 2-4 to seting 2.  Take the Pink wire at CN2 Pin 14 and touch it to ground quickly.  See if it remote starts then.

No parking light flashes at all. I am starting to diagnose it this afternoon, I will post what I find.

Oh man guys, help me out on this one.

The remote start turns the car on and trys to start it, but the security light on the instrument cluster flashes. I tried reprogramming the Key Override SL2 to the vehicle (This is the same one that was programmed to it already) and the LED on the SL2 continually flashes. Vehicle still will not start. So I unplug the SL2, reconnect it, and try to start the vehicle, but to no avail. I just ran to Autozone and picked up a Bulldog Bypass Module, I'm tempted to replace the Fortin Key Override SL2 with it. But if it all possible, I want to make this SL2 work, because it worked before. Any thoughts?

The damn Bulldog bypass requires a programmed key to be permanently installed in the module! wow nevermind that.

the programmin is exactly like the cm5000 which is available in downloads.

just follow the programming options table from the cm6000 which is also avialable in downloads.

for the bypass, unplug it, plug in connector 1 which is power/ground, if it flashes, the module has not been programmed (lost programming).
