I have installed an Ultrastart 1272 on my 2001 Silverado. Everything seems to be working except when starting the engine continues to crank. originally hooked it up tachless, then added tach wire to one of the fuel injectors. It Tach learned in both setups. I have started the remote start, then turned the key to on, to see if it was something with the Passlock II, same outcome continues to crank. The only wire I am not sure about is the Blue wire in the 9 pin connector the description is Neg Trigger to Start / Glow Plug - Programmable. Default is Gas Mode. I do not have this wire hooked up to anything. My engine is Gas. This has me stumped, any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you switched from Tachless to Tach mode, did you perform the Factory reset? Try the Factory reset, make sure you have a good Tach wire connected to the 1272s' Blue/Black tach wire and just start the truck ( with a warm engine ) with the key. It shouild give the Tach Learn confirmation.

Yes I have performed the factory reset several times. I have even tried the manual tack learn while in reverse for lower rmp. It would not sense the Tach in manual tack learn, but learned tachless for what ever reason. So performed the factory reset and tach learned in auto. It picks up the Tach everytime. There is not a Blue/Black wire on this model, the Tach wire from the manual is Blue/White.

What type of bypass? Can you get it to Pit Stop ( or Idle mode )? Both Ignition wires getting power?

Bypass is Ultrastart Tr-2 Universal Remote Starter Key Transponder. it will pit stop fine. it will not start correctly by turning the Key to on and then remote starting though. Both ignition wires are getting power.

Is the Ultrastart Tr-2 Universal Remote Starter Key Transponder a bypass module that will do Passlock2? There is no chip in the key, it is resistive based in the ignition cylinder itself.

Even if the TR-2 Bypass is the issue, it should have worked correctly when I had the key turned to the on position and used the remote start.

True, unless there are two issues with the install. No prior problems with the Passlock2? It always starts OK with the key?

No issues past or present with Passlock system. Starts fine with the key.

This is exactly how mine is wired minus the ACC2 Relay setup. Could ACC2 have anything to do with my issue?

Doubtful. Might be a good idea to put a DMM on the U1272's ignition wire outputs during a remote start. I did have an instance where one of the 30 Amp fuses wasn't seated in the fuse holder properly.

Changed the Bypass to a Directed Electronics Model PLJX, It works perfect now. I do want to thank you for all your help. The notes you took and posted was a big help.
