Good evening all,
I thank you in advance for any assistance provided.
A friend and I are going to install a Viper 5701 and a PKALL into my wives 2002 Escape V6. I have been reading over the instructions, etc and I get awfully confused when reading that of the PKALL.
Since my Viper 5701 does not have DTD, we will be using WTW. That being said, the manual advises me to hook the PURPLE / White to Rx (Data in) and Yellow Black to Tx (Data out). Um, where in the World do these two wires go? Data in and Data out of what?
Thanks again,
Gabe
Hi Gabe,
The connector you are looking for is at the ignition switch. It is a
4 Pin connector. The PKALL Yellow/Black TX wire goes to the BROWN / Orange wire
at Pin 3. The PKALL PURPLE / White RX wire goes to the RED / Black wire at Pin 4.
Good Luck!

Thanks so much. I really appreciate that. Any chance you would also happen to know what wire the Blue/White from the PKALL attaches to? It is looking for a (-) negative While Running Status. Any idea would be appreciated.
Thanks again,
Gabe
p.s I wish it would bloody well stop snowing.
Depending on your version of Viper 5701, the wire you need to control
the PKALL ( Blue/White (-) While Running ) can be found at various connectors.
On the older 5701s it is on "Remote start auxiliary output, 5-pin" connector
and the wire is at Pin 5, BLUE (-) 200mA STATUS OUTPUT. The alternative
can be found at "Remote start input, 5-pin connector" Pin 5 and is called
BLUE/WHITE (-) 200 mA 2ND STATUS/REAR DEFOGGER. Please note that this wire
can be programming for either 2nd Status or Rear Defogger. The default is
2nd Status.
On newer 5701s look for those signals on the H2 18 Pin connector, H2/10 and H2/16.

Thank you so much. Any chance I can trouble you for a bit more information?
I have reviewed all of the install guide, and the wiring schematics for the 2002 Escape and have a couple concerns/questions.
The Viper 5701 Remote Start harness connectins are listed below. My questions are:
Wires 2, 7 & 8: What is a Flex Relay and must this be used?
Wires 4 and 5: Do I actually need these? If so, what would they connect to?
Heavy gauge remote start, (H3) 10-pin connector
1 PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT
2 RED / WHITE (30A) FUSED IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY INPUT 87
3 ORANGE ACCESSORY OUTPUT
4 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT (CAR SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL WIRE)
5 GREEN (+) STARTER INPUT (KEY SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL WIRE)
6 RED (+) FUSED (30A) IGNITION 1 INPUT
7 PINK/WHITE (+) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY OUTPUT
8 PINK/BLACK FLEX RELAY INPUT 87A key side (if required) of FLEX RELAY
9 RED / BLACK FUSED (30A) ACCESSORY/STARTER INPUT
10 N/C
flex relay can be programmed for an additional acc or ign. depending on what extra circuit you might need to power.

So then for basic installations such as mine, I should not need these? I mean I only want the bloody thing to start and unlock the doors..lol. Maybe locking them after would be nice too.
Any thoughts on the 4 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT (CAR SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL WIRE) & 5 GREEN (+) STARTER INPUT (KEY SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL WIRE)? I have no idea what these are for :(
