06 trailblazer tach wire?

what tach wire do you guys use for an 06 trailblazer?  the wire color and location lists say white wire c1 connector at pcm pin 49 but i dont have a white wire there.  my connector view in repair manual shows that as cruise control signal gray wire.  i do see a white wire at pin 31 labled as engine speed signal. does that sound right to you?  it is a 06 trailblazer with a v6 auto.

Tachometer          WHITE          (AC)          IN BLUE PLUG ON PASSENGER SIDE OF ENGINE

thanks for replying.  what blue plug are you talking about on the passanger side of engine? what does it plug into? where is it mounted

White wire, back of cluster....
