I've read all of the threads that came up in search but it didn't solve my problem.

Basically I when remote starting the vehicle the heat does not come on. When I disarm the alarm and turn the key to position 2 the heat comes on. The orange wire (accessory) on the remote start is connected to the WHITE/ black wire at the ignition harness. I used a multimeter to check the voltage at the ignition and the WHITE/ black wire is getting 13.4v when remote started and also the orange wire is getting the same voltage when remote started yet the heater does not turn on without the key in position 2.

Any help is appreciated!

When you start your van with the key, does the heater go off while you crank the motor? This will determine if it's running from an accessory wire or an ignition wire. If your heater does not turn off while cranking, it's on an ignition wire. Your van has 2 ignition wires. Did you forget to hook one of 'em up?

Battery WHITE (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS...12v in all positions
posted_image Ignition 1 BLACK / YELLOW (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS...Will have 12v when key is ON and Cranking...
posted_image Ignition 2 WHITE/ BLACK (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS...Will have 12v when key is ON and Cranking...
posted_image Accessory 1 YELLOW (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS...* Will drop to around 0v during crank...Then back up to 13v-14v when running...*
posted_image Starter 1 BLACK/ WHITE (+)

IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS...Will have 12v while cranking only...

What's hooked up to the Yellow wire in the Ignition Harness...? Per the wiring diagram ...WHITE/ Black is 2nd Ignition...Test first...The Orange wire from the R/S should go the the Yellow  wire in the Ignition Harness(Accessory wire)...Let's go ahead and just disconnect the Orange wire from the Ignition Harness...Maybe you could tell US what type of remote start it is...Then are answers could possibly be more specific...On most R/S systems there is a wire in the Ignition Harness from the R/S that will power up 2nd Ign,Acc,or Starter(default is usually 2nd Ignition)...You'll want to test for the Accessory wire at the Ignition Harness if the color is wrong in the notes above...Also once the Orange wire is disconnected from the car...R/S the car with orange wire NOT connected and put your meter on it to verify 12v when R/S'ed and 0v when OFF...Once you find the wire that drops voltage while cranking in the Ignition Harness...Your Orange wire will be attached there...!

|       ITEM      |     WIRE COLOR     |POL|       WIRE LOCATION        |
|              12V|white|+ |ignition harness            |
|          STARTER|BLACK/ white        |+ |ignition harness            |
|        IGNITION|BLACK / YELLOW        |+ |ignition harness            |
| SECOND IGNITION|yellow              |+ |ignition harness            |

The remote starter is an EBAY one but I've used the same model in a different car (Nissan Maxima) and everything worked out great and the unit has been working perfectly for the last few years. I will test the yellow wire with my multimeter while cranking to see if the voltage drops and then comes back up.

wiring guides are GUIDES. you should alwasys verify with a dmm before connecting anything.
