Hello
I am putting the 5101 into my Saturn and I have installed other Remote Starts in all my cars, but Im having some issues on this one. I already set it to auto, so I dont have the popular 7 clicks, but I cant get around the 8 click issue which is a wait to start. If I ground that cable I can get the beeps to go away, but of course it doesnt start or even turn at that point. If I unground the WTS cable I get the clicks. I have tried to program Menu 3 Option 9 (Tried all three settings, options 2,3,4 - assuming they set correct).
Any ideas? I can only work out there for about 20 minutes at a time, gets too cold :)
Do you have the parking lights connected? If so, attempt to remote start and then count the number of flashes on the parking lights. 8 flashes is Neutral Safety Shutdown according to the install manual, page 57.
The 5 Pin, Remote Start Input has a BLACK/ White wire that needs to be to a ground if this vehicle is an automatic. There is a ON/OFF toggle switch that need to be plugged in and set to ON.

Smokeman -
I dont have the lights yet, I can count the clicks was my thought. I agree about the 8 flashes being the safety wire - I have the on/off switch set to ON - but theres a few WHITE/ black cables on the unit - Is this the white black for H1? That would make some sense since thats the Dome LIght Trigger. Also on H2 is I dont ground the Diesel wait to start I cant get anything - but with that grounded the dash lights up but I dont get a crank at all. I know the vue will crack with no bypass installed since I did it with a previous unit.
Ah, I see - I grounded the neutral safety switch - So now if I attempt a start the dash lights up but no crack attempt at all - then it kicks off and tries again.... All my wiring is the same as my last remote start in the car.... I never had these problems installing before :)
Oh, man - I feel dumb - I got it cranking now, my H3/8 Wire was not making a good connection - My hands have been working against me in this cold, so now I have it cranking (Of course it wont start since I dont have the bypass installed - I might do that tomorrow since I feel much better that it cranks)
Good to hear. Where are you that it is so cold? What year, make , and model of car are you working on.
You could try putting a key in the ignition barrel to see it it will start, also don't forget to do the tach learning.
