Well im looking for a bit of help on installing my Avital 4103 remote starter on my 03 5.4 f250, the installation manual is absolutely useless, ive managed to track down a few guides laying out the colors and locations of most of the connections but im having a hard time finding information on the 4 pin satellite connector.... what is this to be connected to? I understand the heavy gauge harness shares alot of the same colors i assume that they are to sense when the key is being turned manually?

the 4-pin satellite connector provides negative outputs to drive the coil(s) of additional relays..such as the pink would provide an additional ignition, orange accessory, purple start, blue rem start active. they don't sense key inputs of any type.

thanks for the reply, so what your saying basically is that i will not need to do anything with these wires?

how many ignition and accessory wires do you have listed?..two ignition & two accessory? you can use it for the second accessory or there are ways to wire a second accessory not using the satellite harness.

ok for the 4 pin satellite i have as follows:
1-blue (-) Status output
2-orange (-) accessory output
3-purple (-)Starter output
4-pink (-) Ignition output
ON THE TRUCK
IGNITION 1 WHITE/ YELLOW or RED / LIGHT GREEN (+)IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
IGNITION 2 RED / BLACK (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
IGNITION 3 N/A
ACCESSORY /HEATER BLOWER 1 GRAY / YELLOW (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
ACCESSORY /HEATER BLOWER 2 DARK BLUE/LIGHT GREEN (+)
since this truck is the Barebones XL model it has manual heater controls meaning I wont need the acceddory connections?
Sorry if i seem like im a moron but this is not my specialty lol

on the 5 pin harness you're keeping the BLACK/ white,brown,blue/white(no blue/white if the ignition key is NOT chipped,Or no need for that output)...Stagger cut and tape...Are you hooking up tach,,,? On the harness with parking lights and ground...Stagger cut and tape all BUT the white,black,GREEN/ black(if there is a factory alarm to dis-arm,if not,cut GREEN/ black and tape),and Tach(forget color...cut off if not connecting tach,)...As ween said ...the 4-pin can be used to trigger relays to power up the 2nd ignition and accessory wires...Although you could do the same with the existing ignition harness(thick wires)...If not using the tach...Turn off virtual tach and set crank time at .8 or 1.0 seconds...You can use the pink/white off the remote starts ignition harness to power the 2nd Ignition or Accessory(default is 2nd ignition...but can be changed to Acc. in programming)...Some people hook the BLACK/ white up to the toggle switch that is supplied with the starter...Some just run it straight to ground and eliminate that feature...Not to hard to hook it up...One side of switch to ground...The other side to the BLACK/ white...When switch is OFF...The remote start is NOT active(this is good when servicing the vehicle...IE oil changes dont cut off tech's hands)...There should be a sticker in the box to apply under the hood stating there is a remote start installed(warning)... You will still have to power up the Accessory wire, you will have to just leave it ON for when you remote start in the morning... On alot of Fords...ALL the ignition and Accessory wires need powered...If not,on some,it will turn on check engine lights...etc...On some Fords, there will be two of the same color wire in the ignition harness...Although they are the same wire...Sometimes they are in different pin positions and need powered as well...Will be easy to check...You do have a DMM...? ------------- M.E.C.P & First-Class

Well that came out horrible...See if you can read it...It's the colors of the vehicles wires, followed by what wire from the 4103 connects to it...All others will be cut off and taped...The door locks wires will only connect straight from the r/s to the vehicle IF it HAS factory keyless entry...The Door Lock Wires should be pretty thin if they are negative trigger...If no factory keyless then relays are in order and the wires in vehicle will be a bit thicker...
