Ok here's the problem I have a 1999 tahoe and it got broken into over the summer and so I took it to an alarm shop and had a motion sensor put on and air horns put under the hood and I live in an apartment complex and I got alotta people complaining about wen the walk pass it it scares them so I wanna put a switch on it to turn it off and back on wen I need to.

What kind of motion sensor? You can possibly turn down the sensitivity so that it doesn't make any noise unless someone is actually near the car. If it is making noise when people just walk by it isn't set up properly.

I have a dual zone DEI 508d. For parking in busy streets with lots of people around the car I put a cut off switch that also feeds a small LED on the outer zone wire.

Also if they installed a DEI alarm, on some models you can turn off the outer zone (it defaults back to normal so you have to do this each time) from the remote.
