python 1401 with smartstart errors

Hey everyone, am trying to troubleshoot a python 1401 remote start/keyless system with the added smartstart system.

In a manual transmission vehicle, and MTS mode can be activated no problem.

The system works fine using the remote with the 1401 system (locks and remote start all work)

When I try to use my iPhone4 to control, locks work, but remote start button does not. I get one headlight flash, sounds like a door lock or something moves, then a 4 headlight flash error (transmitter shutdown from install guide).

To be honest I don't really understand what is meant by transmitter shutdown...

Any help would be greatly appreciated, i'd like to get this working before monday morning if possible.

btw this is in a chevy aveo5 and we also installed the relay to bypass the ignition.

(since the remote start from my remote works, i would imagine its something with the smartstart module).

just went back and double checked my connections and realized the brown ESP connector was used from the smartstart instead of the white D2D connector (has 4 wires instead of 3) and is compatible with the 1401...

..needless to say it fixed the problem, sorry for my noob question.
