Hi,

I'm ready to add an alarm and remote start to my 2008 Ram 2500.

I'm interested in the Viper Smart Start system but have a concern.
Some times my cell signal is very weak or non existent in my driveway at home.
Is there a version of smart start that I can get that comes with a 2 way fob and the iPhone app? That way I can still use the system without a cell signal.

Also I don't want to be stuck using the iPhone forever.... If I switch phones it would be nice to just use the regular fob.

If anyone can recommend a good installer in South Louisiana that would be a big help too!

Thanks
Donald

The smart start is an add on that simple plugs into the unit via a data cable (D2D), so you can use it with most systems DEI offers. I like the 5701, 2-way full featured security system with remote start, no goofy USB-rechargeable remotes, and fully compatible with their smart start app. As far as switching phones, as long as you replace your current smart phone with another smart phone you should be fine...the app is free, it's the service that has an annual fee.

To your request about an installer, have a look through the find installers link at the top of the page.

Hope this helps.
