Vehicle:
2002 Saturn L200
4 cylinder

Remote start: Bulldog RS1200
Bypass: Bulldog 791

I wired up the remote start, So far everything seems to work except the starting function.
The car will crank and start only to shut down 1-2 seconds later. I did notice the security light is on when this happens. I've doubled and tripled check the wiring. Trouble shooting says to clear the bypass and "relearn" the resistance. I have done this about 10 times already and still no luck.

I'm wondering if it has to do with the Keysence. According to the instrucions I should add a diode to the (-) out when running on the remote start. But then the Bypass says I should use the same wire.
I put the bypass wire before the diode. should this be after the diode?

Any other ideas why the car would shut down right away when using the remote start is activated?

did 2 of these cars this week and did not have any luck with any bypass. i had to go old fashioned and use a relay and resistor

Do you have a schematic of the "resistor and relay" version?

yup. that's the only way i do saturns. they often have oddball resistances apparently i guess is the issue.

What type of relays are these?
SPDT? Amperage?

hey did you try using a pljk? i know that on xpresskit.com the pljk does not come up for this vehicle but i think it might work

i thought the same thing but the pljx does NOT work. it will program (or appear to program) fine but as soon as you try the r/s it locks up the passlock

Here's where I'm at.

I've wired up the Passlock according to the "audiovox" bypass instructions.

I now have a couple of issues.
When using the key, The security light will be lit but will start and run.

If I run the remote start, push on the brake the engine will shut down. After this, I can't start the engine with the key. I have to start the engine with the remote then use the key. Only after I do this will I be able to use the key.

Lastly, when I hook bypass in, the airbag light is on.

Any ideas on where to go from here?

I would start by reading your resistant again and make sure you have the right resistor. Now i was looking at the audiovox link that kreg posted and i'm not saying that they're wrong, but i just don't remember doing anything with the brake pedal. It has been a long time since i did it like this. But I remember measuring by turning the key to the on position ,get a reding. Then turn the car on and get the second reading. Then get a resistor withing 5%. Try that and see if it works. If i'm wrong please someone correct me

The brake has to do with the remote start. Pressing the brake deactivates the RS.

I was explaining different scenarios on what is happening.

I just did one of these again today and it worked perfectly fine.

I'd recheck everything over. you shouldn't be having any of those issues.
