I installed a Autocommand 41027T remote starter which offers keyless entry on a 2006 toyota corolla. Everything seems to work except sometimes when I press the unlock button on the starter remote the lights will flash twice but the doors wont unlock. The lock button works fine. Someone told me it could be that the car has a child safety thing and I would need a diode or something. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

I know some toyotas require a double pulse. otherwise did you solder your connections?

corolla requires double pulse to unlock all doors.

first will do driver, and second opens the rest of the doors.

All sound good, but here's the real reasonposted_image. You are using the wrong unlock wire. You are using the switch wire which unlocks all on one pulse wheras you need the lock cylinder wire that unlocks the drivers on the first pulse and the rest on the second. The safety locks take over if you use the door switch.

Here's a way to test. Open the door and lock the door using the door switch. Close the door. Arm your alarm. Wait a few moments and disarm the alarm. The doors didn't unlock did they? This is the way they design the car.

There are a few ways to fix this. If you prefer the 2 stage unlock and your unit is capable, simply connect the unlock wire to the blue / YELLOW wire in the 10 pin plug in the drivers KP.  Test this wire by turning the key in the driver door cylinder. If you want to keep the all door unlock at once feature, run the unlock wire to the passenger PK and connect to the blue/black wire in the 10 pin plug. Test this by turning the passenger key cylinder.
