Hey guys put a can1 into a 2004 vw golf and the rear handle wont trigger the boot, u can trigger it using the can1 and original keyfob by pressing for a few secs, would installing the can1 affect this in any way?

Thanks
Karl

Why not find the neg trigger wire at the BCM and feed off the alarm, using a spare aux, or feed off the alarm as before and relay to the trunk or hatch (they won't understand "boot") release motor wire.

it triggers from the new alarm and olf keyfob but unless you lifting the boot it catches straight away and he would rather open it as norm by just lifting the vw logo boot handle.

its a little strange as i had a 2007 golf in other day for a hands free kit and it had no mention of the key fob popping the boot only unlocking the boot handle so that would trigger the release when i looked in the manual, yet his pops the boot instead of unlocking the handle, any ideas about that at all?

thanks for your reply tho :)

I've never noticed any procedural uniformity with them, it's like the Mk lV, some had priority (double pulse) unlock, some didn't.
Also I originally thought this post was about the trunk trigger (i.e. trunk (boot) trigger). They fail on Golfs, Polos and transporter.
Also you might have been better using a later product than the CAN 1 , such as a CANMAX 400.

yeah i called armour as the canmax was not listed for the 2004 golf and they said i needed the can1, the switch inside the rear door is fine as i unpluged it and shorted with wires that lead to it and still nothing, so something in the car is ignoring the handle
