Installing a Prestige APS787C into an 2011 Mazda 3.  Using the (-) Light Blue 300ma ground out while running to give a (-) GWR Status input to the Dball.. Does this need a relay to protect the low 300ma output of the Remote Start?  Im assuming it doesn't, just being precautious.

No relay required, connect directly between the R/S and bypass.    If you are using the R/S GWR output for other things besides the bypass, then diode isolation is required.

Use the dome supervision wire. It is in the driver kick panel and can also be found at the BCM in a 16 pin plug pin n. The wire color is green and is -. posted_image

so does that mean that bully dog's diagram is correct? Are you using a pinout diagram of the BCM connectors from the service manual? If not i would recommend downloading it.

2011 Mazda 3 found the -lock wire per the tech sheet and used a 1k ohm resisitor via the rs -lock positive unlock and the vehicle won't unlock just lock..thanks for any help

if you can locate them, i would use the factory arm and disarm wires and hook up your lock and unlock wires from the brain to those. That way they will control the domelight at the same time.

the unlock is a straight negative ground on that one no resistor.

the unlock is not positive

Thers is only one wire and thats the alarm arm disarm wire thru a - signal and a 1k OHM resisitor. Its doing the same as the other wire only locking the vehicle upon arm.

im confused, bulldog says to;

POWER LOCK  LT. GREEN (-) thru a 1000 Ohm Resistor, NOTE #3  in DRIVERS KICK PANEL or BCM, (BLUE, 24-PIN PLUG(F), PIN D, NOTE #2
 POWER UNLOCK  Use LOCK wire

from the remote start unit I have 3 wire, ( RED / black Neg. 2nd unlock)   (green Positive lock. Neg. Unlock) and Red Neg. Lock, Positive unlock

What should I do here? thanks

Ok figured it out..thanks to my buddy Dan..ground signal wasn't strong enough..used a dei door lock relay kit..all good now..

what brand and model remote start

most just have negative outputs for lock and unlock

most will have a lock output(-)
Unlock output(-)
positive for powering Relays
some will have a second Unlock output(-) for people that want driver door priority.

there is one wire for the lock and unlock of the mazda 3

to lock you have to ground that wire with a 1000 ohm resistor in line and to unlock you just have to ground that wire with no resistor

if you need to switch polarity then you will have to use a relay

Prestige Aps787c  I dont believe the ground signal was strong enough. So what i did was use a dei door lock relay kit and it now works great. Thanks Monty.

yeah you're supposed to use relays to do locks like that except for on some newer dei units.

Yeah usually the tech sheet or rs install guide gives you a heads up..per the tech sheet it stated use a 1k ohm and that's it..oh well now I know..
