Anyone have a problem with using a bit writer with the avital 4103 and 4113? The u it's have been a hit or miss with programming. It will read the unit change features and then tell me the write could not be verified. I'll read the unit again and it usually writes the features I wanted changed. Other times it will not read the unit at all. Then at times I'll write the changes and it will set the remote start runtime to 0. I can not figure out what is going on. I've tried with ignition on and off. I have the latest chip which is 2.7.I have an old 2.6 but have not tried that yet.

Any ideas or experiencing similar issues?

i think you need the new cable from dei to pug into the 4113, not sure if my memory serves me right there, so i could be wrong, i've never had any trouble however, using the newest chip.

I have the new cable. It has the red 4 pin plug for the avital and a black 3 pin plug for the bit writer

when i say an older bitwriter i mean it was because the bitwriter was old, lol, not that it was an older version.

It ends up that if you have a 2 year old or less bit writer it will work fine. If it's older you need to replace the bit writer completely or buy a new motherboard.
