Just did a RS on an 06 GMC envoy. The unit is the Viper 5901 and I used the FLCAN module. I hardwired the connections from the 5901 to the FLCAN instead of using the D2D line.
So....the alarm, door locks work and the door triggers all work. However when I try to engage the remote start it runs for about 10 seconds then shuts off. The lights flash once, then the car starts again. 10 sec later it stops. Lights flash, then it tries one last time to crank but there's no turnover. At that point I usually shut it down with the remote cause it cranks for a while.
The only connections to the car are the ignition wires (12v,12v, ign1, ign2, acc, start), brake wire, ground, parking lights, and the FLCAN wires to the ign1 and OBDII plug pin 2. Tried running virtual tach and with tach resulting in the same thing.
The diagnostics on the alarm state that the single light flash after each failed start attempt means "runtime expiration." I tried reprogramming the FLCAN multiple times (not "reflash" but reprogram)to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated.

When you reset the FLCAN module, do you select Standard Mode ( 2 blinks ) and hold the button until the green light goes out to register the selection?
When you tried Tach mode with the Viper, where did you get the Tach signal? ( The FLCAN will not output a Tach signal on V-8 engines.) ------------- Soldering is fun!

Vehicle has a 6 cylinder. Tach signal is from FLCAN.
To reset the module the instructions say to pull off all the connectors, doing the power harness last. Then hold the programming button while plugging in the power harness until the led flashes red. Release button then reinsert the remaining connectors.
After that I press the programming button to switch between 1 or 2 blinks (d2d or w2w). I select 2 blinks then hold the button until it turns solid green. Release. Insert key. Module glows red 2 sec, green 2 sec, then off. During RS the module blinks green a series of 6 times then cycles. Which from the instructions means it's properly programmed.
Just tried RS with the key in the column. No turning to any positions just placing it in the cylinder. Still does the same thing.
Also when any commands are issued from the 1-way remote the 2-way remote is not updated with the status. For example the alarm can go off, disarm with 1-way, 2-way remote still shows alarm going off until a key is pressed on it.
I'm starting to guess a faulty alarm brain perhaps?

The FLCAN sounds OK. Passlock2 is resistance and not a transponder so the key "in but not turned to ON" test dosn't work. Any "Security" type lights on the dash? Passlock2 turns off the fuel pump.
Just for fun you might try going to a fuel injector and doing a Tach re-learn.
Not a Viper expert to be able to help with the two way remote issue. ------------- Soldering is fun!
