I am installing a viper 5101 remote start with a XK01 bypass, this is my first remote start install and I have a few questions.

As I understand so far(correct me if im wrong) with the XK01, I only have to install my remote start harness(ignition etc), splice into my data wire, ground the units, power them, hook up brake, parking lights, and neutral safety swtich? EVERYTHING else goes through the d2d??

Also, when hooking up the remote start harness...can someone tell me which wires go where? the viper install guide shows this.

H3/1
PINK
IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT

H3/2
RED / WHITE
(+) FUSED (30A) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY INPUT 87

H3/3
ORANGE
ACCESSORY OUTPUT

H3/4
VIOLET
STARTER OUTPUT

H3/5
RED
(+) FUSED (30A) IGNITION 1 INPUT

H3/6
PINK/WHITE
IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY OUTPUT 30

H3/7
PINK/BLACK
FLEX RELAY INPUT 87A key side (if required) of FLEX RELAY

H3/8
RED / BLACK
(+) FUSED (30A) ACCESSORY/STARTER INPUT

I am using a wire diagram from bulldog and it shows i have ignition one and ignition 2....so which wires do i use from this harness and where do they go?

Pink would go to the first ignition wire.
Pink/White goes to the second ignition wire. It can be programmed to work as a second accessory wire. Most GM vehicles only need one of the two accessory wires powered up during remote start. The other just turns on the radio.
Orange to your accessory wire.
Violet to the starter wire.
Red, RED / Black, and RED / White all go to 12 volts constant.

Pink/Black is not used.

As far as the XK01 you are correct.

Thanks Brandon, does it matter which 12 volts constant I tap into ignition or will either one do? it shows there are two of them?

Split the Vipers' 4 power wires between the trucks two +12v constant wires, two to each.

Soldering is fun!
