First, thanks to all for the incredible wealth of information. Although I've never posted, the information available has allowed me to successfully install several alarms flawlessly on my vehicles.

That said, I've encountered my first problem and would appreciate your assistance in resolving it.

Installed a Viper 5902 alarm and remote start on my 2010 6 speed Jeep Wrangler Unlimited w/ factory power windows and OEM alarm.

I used the Xpresskit Chall module with CHTH2 harness to interface with the ignition. It is connected to the brain via D2D. Everything works flawlessly with one exception: when I activate the remote start (MTS procedure for a manual transmission) the vehicle starts but the OEM alarm also activates (horn honks continuously). I have to stop the horn honking by pressing the oem alarm keyfob's unlock button.

Once I stop the oem alarm, I can then unlock the doors with the 5902's keyfob, jump in and drive away. Every other aspect of the alarm and install is flawless.

The only thing I've tried thus far is to reprogram the chall device via the procedure listed on theinstall guide with no success. I'd rather just disable the OEM alarm, but I understand that its integrated into the Canbus system and cannot be done.

Your assistance, as always, is greatly appreciated. Thank you and Happy New year.

You can use the vipers 2nd status outout to power the keysense wire in the jeep and as long as the chall is working properly that SHOULD do the trick. The factory alarm is suppose to disable when it sees they keysense, ignition and key signal at the same time.

Thank you. If I remember correctly, I should power the key sense wire through an 8.5k ohm resistor. Is this correct?

On a side note, shouldn't this all have been handled by the chall and chth2 by virtue of the fact that it was designed to handle remote start?
