Ok, we have seen the ScyTec aka AsianWolf alarm that takes and sends a photo of the intruder to the remote fob, the image is too small and only works if you are in range (fail). Any of you guys see a way to buy a "cheap" prepaid phone and have the alarm tell it to take the picture and automatically send it to your real phone? Verizon says I can get a smart phone for less than $50 and only pay when it is being used, (when my buggy is being violated) and then only a quarter per message! I am a "big picture guy" with no experience in the electronics involved but you guys seem to be the ones with the know how. can we make it work?

I just recently became a Verizon destributor (last month).  This is a type of project that is on my radar but I have yet to even start researching it.  I don't think I would do pictures though, just two way communication to notify you that the alarm is going off and to be able to start/stop, lock, unlock, etc from the anywhere (like other products on the market now!)

Thanks Kevin but I think the Camera is the key. say you are in the movie, and your smart start tells you your car is being violated, one quick peek at the picture, and you see a lightening strike in the background, on to the rest of the movie. If on the other hand you see some crackhead peeking in, time to get moving. in a perfect world i could get Skype to call me with the video on to "video chat" with the purp and let him know he picked the wrong buggy to break into. but i really did not see any android phones in the "daily prepaid" plans.

The chances of the camera being in the right place, with the right light and the right focus are slim to none.
