About a month ago my truck RS started acting up. 90% of the time when its started with the key the park lights flash 3 times as soon as it starts. Also randomly driving down the road it will do the same. A little rundown of what and how.....

04 F150 lariat new body
5200 brain and 1w900 remote installed 2 yrs ago
Battery randomly/ rarely goes dead - may be unrelated

Those are the only issues, it always remote starts just fine. I swapped out the brain for a 6200 and rewired it last night with no changes. Normally none of this would bother me but I had the 5200 set up as factory style alarm and the siren will chirp with the park lights

the factory alarm setting can still be turned on via programming.

check downloads for the install guide with programming table. Use the cm6000 manual since the cm6200 is the same thing without a full alarm (shock sensor, siren etc)

Yea I plan on setting it back up after I get the flash/chirp issue fixed. It's annoying having it do it most of the time

does that occur every time you try to remote start? or everytime you put a key in the ignition

Never that ive noticed when remote starting just 90% of the time when started with the key. also once in awhile while driving down the road.

I did get it to do it while driving a couple times by flooring it and letting off. I thought maybe a loose wire thats moving or an issue with the tach wire. But like i said i rewired with a new brain and checked all the connections.

Would a bad tach signal cause this? its strange because it has nothing to do with remote starting. If it did it would be alot easier to diagnose

could be a loose ground wire. When the ground is loose it does funky things to the unit, like put it in valet mode, stops 2way paging, random clicks in the unit, crappy antenna range, etc

The first ground was in the kick using the factory ground. when I rewired I screwed it into the unpainted 1/4 thick dash brace with a self tapper. I believe thats more than sufficient.

Please keep the spitballs coming. I think something with the truck is causing this.

FIXED

About the time this started I swapped out the antenna for a new one cuz the kid bent the old one.

I never thought to look but the antenna from the box is a two way and the brain is not "seeing" a 2way remote

Thanks for the help, maybe if I threw that detail in someone wouldve caught it

oh man, iwas going to suggest that you didnt have a 2way remote, but looking at your original post, it said 1w900 so i assmed it was a 1way system.

good thing all is working well.
