99 Alero takes a straight negative to lock. Takes a negative through a 1500 ohm resistor to unlock. Mars 33 Alarm/Remote start combo. Of course I tried to sneak the resistor directly in line but no dice. Since it has a neg. output only. So I used 1 single relay just on the unlock side. Lock works fine. I hit unlock and the relay clicks but no unlock. stuck a test light on the the trigger side of the relay and the relay clicked, locks unlocked... Relay is getting the signal from the brain and clicking the relay... won't unlock. I trigger the same wire with a test light/probe, works every time... ??? Please enlighten me???

how is your relay wired?
should be something like this
87- ground
86-12volts
85- negative out from unit
30- negative lock wire with resistor inline

Yes, thats the way its wired. It works fine if i trigger it any other way than the RS neg. output. Even with that, the relay clicks. Darndest thing. Installed thousands of remote starts and this baffles me a bit...

the negative out from the remote start might be too weak to trigger the relay then. get maybe a smaller relay? dei 451m works great
