hey guys! i install a remote starter unit into a 98 honda civic manual transmission, no keyless entry, just remote starter. when i put the power back on the remote starter unit is working good, the unit can remote start the car. but i cant power on the aftermarket radio installed in the car.

do you guys know whats wrong?

did you check the fuses?

at the back of the stereo

in the factory fuse box might of wired it to factory wire.

most have two fuses one on the accessory on and on the battery connections

There are two fuses, one is the permanent feed marked back-up or memory, that will be in a fusebox under the hood. The accessory fuse is in the inside fusebox.

with it being an aftermarket stereo there is a fuse most likely on the aftermarket harness to

Have you used a volt meter to see which of the 2 power wires have no voltage on them. The Radios yellow wire should have 12 volts on it at all times. The Red wire should have 12 volts only when the key is in the on or the acc position. Some aftermarket radios have fuses mounted in a manner that you can not see the fuse. The fuse may be inserted under a tab of the wiring harness. Unplug the harness from the back of the radio and look for a fuse under it.

Has your vehicle either been jump started or jump started another vehicle? Kenwood units always used to blow their chassis fuses (the one Mr. I is referring to above), during that procedure.
