I am installing a Excalibur AL-1830-EDP, and using an Omegalink OL-DB-CH1 bypass. I never installed a bypass before like this. What wiring do I need for the remote start hooked up and what wires do i need hooked up to and from the bypass? We only have one sentry key, would this be a problem with the install? Sorry so many questions, these jeeps are a nightmare with wiring. Basically I need to know what wires are needed and what wires are not so I dont have a big cut and splice party under the dash.
Thanks

The bypass you have requires 2 keys for programming.  You can get a can module that only requires 1 key to program and would also give you a brake ouput to your remote start.  Once you get around the hurdle of the 2 keys, you will need to connect your heavy gauge r/s harness to the heavy gauge ignition wires of the vehicle.  I know that r/s is also a security system but if you want horn then you would need to connect that from r/s to car.   You will also need to get a relay and run your parking lights through it from the r/s to the parkin light wire.  If you stick with the bypass you have and get another key made,  you need to get a brake wire in the car which is available if you pop the driver kick panel.   You could use the d2d cable or you could hardwire between the r/s and the bypass the doorlock, door status and tach connections.  If you hardwire then it would be much easier to troubleshoot if things aren't functioning as desired.  Honestly this jeep is not that bad to install on.  I would try to return the bypass you have and get a CAN module like flcan, ads-al-ca or ol-mdb-all.  they are all the same module just branded differently.  they will need to be flashed with the correct firmware but only require 1 key to program and give you a brake output as well.

X2 with dasbogie.  The Jeeps power door locks alone are a nightmare and make the price of the bypass look cheap.  Try to get an iDatalink ADS DL flashed with the ADS DL CH6 firmware.  Only need one key to program...

Thanks for the good info, I am stuck with this bypass. I will tell them they need to get another key made before we go any further. They need two anyway.

rememeber it wont program with a locksmith clone !

you need an original key. i would suggest what the 2 above you mentioned. get a diff bypass that supports 1 key programming/dl interface

They said they were going to the dealer and get one made.
