I am installing a Viper 5901 into my 2009 Nissan Frontier using a DBALL bypass. The truck is an SE king cab (2door) with a 6sp manual transmission. I plan on using the D2D connection. I have all the wiring diagrams and install manuals but I still have a few questions. Most of them are around the IPDM and what connections are needed with a manual transmission. I attached a PDF with my planned connections and questions. Any hints or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The blue highlighted items are the ones I think I know and the yellow are the ones that I have questions on.

it look like you will just have to run the starter wire to that connection you will not need one on the ignition harness or use starter 2 output

as for the neutral safety wire i believe that will still need to be hooked up.

the bypass says it will send a tach so you don't have to hook that up

says it will do hood pin too

your Ground while running (status) will go through the D2D

your pdf link is broken but will work if you copy and paste it

Thanks monty_77 I will try that first and see if it works out. Did the rest of my planned connections look right?

I got your email monty..thank you for the info. I have one concern though. The info you sent has a second starter wire listed and says it needs to be hooked up. It says 2009 but from the pictures I can tell it is a 2005-2008. I have a print out from direct wire 2.0 for a 2009 and it list second starter: N/A. The print out from xpresskit for the DBALL shows to just hook up starter 1 to the IPDM and nothing about Starter 2. Do you think it is still the case that I should hook starter one to the IPDM and nothing to any starter wire in the ignition switch?

I was kind of hoping that I could have every connection layed out before I start the install but it looks like I am going to have to do some digging once I start pulling the interior apart.

BTW I will try to link the pdf angain Here

Since your truck is a manual transmission you are correct, just run the starter wire from the RS out to the IPDM and hook it up to the starter 1 wire. Just like the DBALL manual says.

So H3/5 will go to the key side of the starter wire and H3/4 will go to the IPDM leaving the starter side of the starter wire disconnected?

are you planning on doing a starter kill

as for anti grind the clutch switch should serve that purpose and all you need to do is h3/4 to the IPDM and not hook up the h3/5.

if you want to starter kill i think i would cut that start wire with another relay.

it you wire the h3/5 to the starter wire you will bypass the clutch safety switch and make the vehicle more dangerous.

Thanks monty! thats exactly what I needed. I'm not worried about the starter kill but I wasn't sure if I could leave h3/5 not connected
