I bought a Viper 5701 with a Chall module for my 2007 Dodge Ram. I'm having a problem getting the Chall module to program. The programming light was on from the get go, even before I plugged in the t-harness.
I held in the programming button and plugged in the t-harness, then when I turn the key to on the programming light just stays on, it doesn't start flashing.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I believe that I'm plugging it in the right order. I'm pressing the button before I insert the t-harness into the chall.
How do you go about resetting the chall module?

are you doing this install d2d or wire to wire
are you using the chth1 harness that came with the chall or the chth2 that you have to buy extra
your truck needs the chth2
if you do not have the correct harness there is a pdf on directed site that will let you hook it up by slicing into the factory wire.
here is the link

I'm doing a d2d install and yes I'm using a chth2 harness. I can't figure out why the chall won't start the programming process. The programming light is on, it just won't start flashing once I turn the key to on.
You mentioned resetting the chall, how do you go about that?
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the help. I tried calling a couple times and was on hold for about 30 minutes. I'll try to call again today. Hope I can get this thing figured out soon.

I had a similar problem with my Chall in that it didn't want to go into program mode. The issue I had was with the D2D connection. With it plugged in, it wouldn't enter program mode. With the D2D cable unplugged, it would.
Try this:
Enter program mode by inserting the chth2 cable into the chall while depressing the program button, but do so with the D2D cable unplugged from the chall device. Once it enters program mode, reconnect the D2D and proceed with turning the ignition key, pressing the remote start unlock button, turning ignition off and then pressing the OEM remote lock button...

Well I went out and tried what you suggested chrisle, but I still didn't have any luck.
This is becoming pretty annoying, it should have been the easiest step of the whole process. Hopefully I can get DEI to answer the phone. I'm wondering if I need an updated firmware at this point.
The only other thing I can think of is that it's a problem with my key and the immobilizer system. I've read a few other things about that with other bypasses.

The red program light on my chall did not light up when I plugged the unit it. It only did so when I plugged the harness in while pushing in the program button (as its supposed to). I'm far from an expert, but perhaps the chall itself is defective? That or you have the wrong harness for your vehicle?
