Subject: 530t window module on 09 mazdaspeed 3

Alright I am going to be installing two 530t units on my 09 mazdaspeed 3. It looks like I will have to dremel out a section of the plastic wire plugs in my doors to get all four of the wires I will need into each door. I am going to install one module on each side of the car, the module on the drivers side will control the windows on that side of the car, and obviously the one on the passenger side will control the passenger side windows. I am doing that to keep wire lengths down to a minimum.

The first thing I am wondering about is this, I want to use the same aux channel to control both modules, that is I want all four windows to move together instead of tying two of the windows to aux 1, and the other two to aux 2. I plan on just hooking up my aux 1 output from my 5901 to both units' aux inputs. I don't see that being an issue do any of you?

Next question, if I run the necessary wires into each of my four doors, it should give me one touch up and down operation on each window. Will this only be possible from the switch located on that door? Or will I also be able to use the one touch feature from my master set of switches located on the driver's door?

Thanks,

Scott

No problems with how you want to do it, one aux should trigger both, I've done it that way, if not relay boost the signal!
aux to 85
12v+ constant 3 amp fused to 86
Good ground to 87 and
530 trigger wire from 30
If you go to each pair of motor wires in each door, you will have "one shot" up and down from both main and satellite switches.
Read the instructions!

Just a couple of extra thoughts, good ground essential, if necessary, run the power feeds direct to the battery, using a thicker gauge cable and fuse at the battery.

Thanks howie, I am going to use a factory ground like the manual says to do. I have read it several times but I did not see anywhere where it mentioned if I would have one touch control on both the switches or not.

In theory you could mount

Sorry I screwed up. In theory you could mount both motors in the driver's door...but space, water ingress and drilling out those mustard connectors aside, if you connect before the satellite switches you lose the one touch up down on all bar the driver's window which might already have that, the Fiesta (same car) already has one touch down in the UK.
If you set up as you originally planned, mount each unit in each kick panel you will have one touch up and down on

yea i think i am gonna go through the extra pain of running the wires through each door so i can have one touch on each one of them. Its a pretty nice feature to add in my opinion.

Wonder if I can get away with "sodding" connectors?

howie, or anyone else who might know for that matter, I have a couple questions about the 530t module. I spent the better part of the day today installing one of my modules. I fought with getting the wires through the stupid door connectors for a good hour and a half. I was getting some very odd behavior from the unit that i installed, as in it would work for about ten seconds, then quit, then work again. I tried switching the number 5 polarity switch back and forth a couple times, and it would work, then stop working. Then it would work again if i took the fuse out of the const +12v input and then put it back in, and then would stop working again. I finally swapped the unit out for the other module that I bought, and what do you know, everything worked perfect. So I am guessing one of my modules is faulty and I am going to try to get it swapped out asap. That was not my question however.

I am wondering about the polarity of the small switches that adjust resistance and specifically switch number 5 which toggles the polarity. The second module that i tried out (the one that works correctly) seems to work correctly no matter what position i put the number 5 toggle switch in. That doesnt seem right to me since my window system is type A, and the module should be looking for + inputs only right? If that is the case i do not understand why it works correctly in both positions.

The other question is this, which freaking setting is on and which is off for the toggle switches? Looking at the diagram in the install manual is quite confusing because it shows a little ON with an arrow point down right below it, and i dont know if that means that the on position is at the top, or it's saying to push it down to have it be on. If you look at the 530t install manual i think you will see what i mean about which direction is which, it is a little confusing, or maybe its just me...

First rule, if it works, don't worry about those damn switches!
The manual should explain them better than I can.

yea thats what my buddy told me, if it works dont worry about it lol. Is there any way to bench test the 530t to make sure it's defective?

First t&t you should contact the moderators.
Second, scam404, go through the archives, either Mike M2 or Mark Mizenko did a definitive on the switches about 2 years ago.

howie, was that a thread started by one of them? When I search for 530t there are not threads coming up started by either of them.

Not sure, about 2 years ago, try looking at posts under the 530t or window closer setting.
