Im installing the 4103 remote starter. The door locks work but it wont remote start. When i hit the remote start button i hear the box doing a bunch of clicking but nothing else happens. 1st question- The thick pink wire and the thick valid wire i dont have hooked up to anything because there are no wires this big under the steering column. The thin pink wire and the thin purple wire i do have hooked because they match the size of the wires on the steering column. 2nd question- Do the lights and horn need to be hooked up for it to work ? ------------- Steady

I've a feeling the thick pink should be connected to ignition one and WTH is meant by "thick valid wire". Have you checked with a DMM what wires do what in the ignition loom?

Lights and horn don't need to be hooked up for the system to work.

The info for this vehicle is on this site under vehicle wiring. Read it.
You will probably need an immobiliser by-pass.
Read the Avital instructions AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN.

Thanks for the tips!! Most was common sense and I will triple check the connections I made. My main issue was in the installation guide - the heavy gauge wires - pink goes to ignition wire (+) output, Purple to the starter wire (+) output. The red wires (30A) high current - I attached to the constant 12V in the ignition switch harness. Because theses wire are like 12/14 gauge and all the wires I see are 6/8 gauge - It didn't feel right. The 4-pin satellite wires was the same gauge as the ignition switch harness - so I connect theses - pink goes to ignition wire (-) output, Purple to the starter wire (-) output.
Looking at the wiring quick reference guide - the heavy guage wires pink = ingition output, purple = starter output Pink/white = ignition 2 output. The thin wires, pink(-)200mA third ignition turn on, Purple (-)200mA second starter turm on. And I also have a 9-pin harness the has a yellow (+) ignition output.
LOL... And I thought this install would be straight forward and simple. ------------- Steady

It is very easy, the THICK wires, purple, orange, pink are the ones that get joined; the thin wires are neg relay outputs and don't need to be used on your vehicle.
You will probably need a by-pass assuming a factory immobiliser, you will need one if it only remote starts with the key in the ignition.
