I've looking on this site and a few others to try and find wiring instructions for a 04 majentis. I haven't had much luck. I've read that there isn't any ignition security. Is this true?

Thanks in advance

According to Wikipedia the Magentis is called the Optima here in the U.S. If it is the same car, there is no reference to any type of required bypass module on any of the normal sites. Idatalink and Xpresskit do not list anything.

The sure fire way to see if you need one for your car is to hook up the system completely, program your settings, and try to remote start the car. If it remote starts and runs without a key in the ignition, it doesn't require a bypass. If it only starts and runs with a key in the ignition (in the off position) it requires a bypass. I am fairly certain you do not need one, but again this is based on experience with the U.S. models of Kia.

You can find wiring information for the 04 Optima here.

Thanks for the reply.

If this vehicle has power locks would they have to be isolated?

Thanks!

Yup, it does indeed have power door locks. Is it as simple as using the remote starter door unlock (-) to unlock the doors? No isolation necessary?

Thank you

Should not need any isolation.

thank you for your reply. So as long as the locks see a (-) signal from the remote starter, everything should work ok? I noticed in the wiring info that there is the one yellow wire in the kick panel. Would that unlock all the doors, or just the drivers?

Thanks again!
