-Viper 5002, no remote start, standard install on 2001 Civic over a year ago. No changes in electrical system since install.

Last week I noticed the chirps on remote stopped. Trying to reset the remote to chirp a response by itself to locks/unlocks fails to work.

Now I notice the LED inside the car is on steady with the ignition on, goes off in engine run mode, and goes back on steady when armed. It used to do a steady blink. The horn no longer chirps on arm/disarm either.

Any suggestions on correcting this? It is really not a huge problem, just an annoyance not to hear that confirming chirp anymore.

Thanks for any ideas you might have...

Refer to your owner's manual, I think you're in valet mode.

Amateurs assume, don't test and have problems; pros test first. I am not a free install service.
Read the installation manual, do a search here or online for your vehicle wiring before posting.

Howie II got it right... valet mode. I failed to read all the fine print in the manual. Quick fix. Thanks,

Dan

You wouldn't believe the amount of comebacks i get each week for this same issue, and people are in amazement when i show them what to do and then they complain they drove from halfway across the country to get it done, and i'm like well it's in the manual and then they get quiet and they leave in peace.

Yeah, and I felt especially dumb when I found it in the manual AFTER reading through it. I did my own install a year ago, and it has been trouble free. I must have inadvertently put it in valet mode. OOPS...
