I was told to buy a DB-GMDL-BP so that i could hook up my wifes new compustar alarm/ remote start and now that i look at omega's website it looks like this is the wrong module i need help i need to know if this one will work and how do i need to hook it up

You could have just bought the GMBP.

The GMDL-BP will bypass the Passlock II system, but it will not control the door locks. The doorlocks did not become data until 2003.

You should only be using the ground (black), 12v constant (red), (-) ground when running (brown), and data output (violet).
