1999 ford f 150 4x4 lariat alarm problem

I recently did some work on my guage cluster and had to disconnect the battery and when I reconnected the battery my alrm started causing me trouble.  I have the factory system with a dealer add on siren, LED and kill switch in the kick panel.  Every time I open the door, locked or unlocked the alarm goes off and the only way to stop it is cylcle the key to the on position and hit the kill switch.  Also it will not start until I do that.  I tried cycling the key on and holding the kill switch down for 30 seconds, tred hitting the alarm button on the key and it just set off the horn.  It's kind of frustrating so I really appreciate any advice.

I'm not set against removing it as long as I don't make things worse, so if there is a process I would be grateful.  thanks very much in advance

If you take a look under the dash and find the model number of the system and post it here, someone may have a manual for it. You might also be able to find a new remote for it to get it working.

If you want to remove it that is simple enough too. You mention that the dealer only installed siren, LED, and kill switch...this is incorrect. The factory installed security systems in those trucks do not use an LED, Siren, or kill switch...when you unlock with the factory remote or by unlocking the door with a key it will disarm the 'content theft deterrent' system. That factory system did not include a starter kill, it has a transponder based anti-theft system. When you take the dash down follow the ignition wires, you will find the brain of the system. It is probably a Ford branded Code Alarm system. Simply remove all associated wiring, the brain itself, the siren, etc...and reconnect the starter wire that was cut to install the system. Make sure you insulate all of the removed connections, and I recommend soldering your starter wire back together...but a proper butt connection should suffice.

Thanks very much for the info.  I crawled under the dash and there a black module with  a Ford emblem and Ford Security Systems.  It has a schematic on it but no part numbers that were visible.  It also has some of the wires into the harnesses cut withy splices which look like they go to the valet switch, horn and led in the dash.  So please excuse my ignorance, never messed with alarms, but to remove it I would disconnect the splcises or unplug all the connectores going into the black ford module?  Wil the keyless function still work.  Thanks for your help

No...the keyless will not work if you disconnect that system. So that complicates things a bit. I don't know if this is the right manual or not, but check out this link. See if you can put the system into 'service mode', maybe it will at least get you back to where it was prior to experiencing your problems.

Emergency Starter Interrupt Disarm Procedure
If your remote control transmitter is lost or fails to function, use this procedure to start
your vehicle.
1. Use the keys to enter the vehicle.
2. Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the ON position.
3. Locate and press the programming/override button mounted under the instrument
panel.
Note (LS only): Unlocking the drivers door with the door key will disarm your
PowerCode systems starter interrupt feature.

I also seen the below statement in the manual which is what I am attempting to do, but no procedures.  I called those guys and when they learned I wasn't a dealer they got pretty rude and would provide no help.  I understand the implications, just want to know howe to disarm the thing.  Guess I have no options except to rip and strip at this point.  Since the door seems to be activitating the alarm, can I disconnect this sensor/feature and still maintain a unlock capabilioty with the FOB?  I disconnected the battery and removed the radio, any idea how that sent it in the current tailspin.  Again, thanks for the patience and assistance.
