I am looking for a touch of help on how to wire the 8081 to the DLPKCHG1. the 8081 has an onboard relay for door locks, but using the bypass module for door locks I need to send a neg output for lock/unlock duty. The 8081 has a lock #87, #87A and #30 and same for unlock. Any idea on how I can wire this in. I was going to bench it and test how the relays act but have not had the time. I feel like I am missing the obvious here but it is late and mind is tired from working a long day. This is the last piece to the puzzle, then on to the burnt fingers and soldering fumes, YAY!

TIA,
JR

You will have to

87 ground
87a will not use
30 will get connected to the unlock or lock wire of the bypass

if you need more help with relays you can check out the relay section of this site, very helpful

it even has diagrams for the more popular uses

Thanks for that. Pretty much what I assumed, but didn't want to just assume.

2002 Dodge Durango R/T

I got the install started and got the Astroflex STS-120 installed and tested. Xpresskit DLPKCHG1 was flashed to the proper firmware and all wired up, and antenna wire loop installed. I still have the 8081 and the 8343 expansion module left to wire up which shouldn't be too bad. The 8081/8343 is relocated father away resulting in lengthening just a few wires. :)

Now a couple of issues. I tried to put the Astroflex into diesel mode, but it did not have a wait to start and just cranked like in gas mode. So on that note, I can't program the bypass module per the directions. I was curious if I could jump the ignition wires and activate the bypass for programming. I did try jumping the ignition wires, and tried to ground(chassis ground) the GWR signal wire to the bypass but could not get it to program. I successfully got the car into key program mode, but never got a security light to turn on for the bypass and it has not accepted the program.

I am at a loss as to what to do to get this to program and want to get the bypass programmed before I tuck and hide bypass and remote start and move on to the 8081/8343 and the 530T's. Any thoughts on what to do or how to get the unit programmed?

TIA,
JR

Ok I am jumping both ignition wires when in key program mode and holding the bypass transponder side to the ignition and it is not taking the program. I have no idea why it will not program. I just had another key programmed about a month back and that worked fine so that would make it three keys to the car and I am using the two originals to program and no luck.

i some times find it easier to take the board out of the case of the bypass and hold the transponder touching the ignition cylinder.

I even tried doing that. No dice. I am at a loss as to what is going on with programming. I get the truck to go into programming mode but it does not see the bypass.
